What does LogDog do?
LogDog watches your VRChat group's audit log and delivers every event to Discord as clean, color-coded embeds: joins, leaves, join requests, bans, kicks, warns, role changes, instances, posts, and more. Your staff can act on events with buttons right in the log channel, and the web dashboard adds search, analytics, and role sync management on top.
Does VRChat really delete group audit logs?
Yes. VRChat only keeps group audit logs for about 30 days, then they are gone. LogDog keeps every event it captures for as long as your group stays connected, so questions like “what happened with this member last year” still have answers.
Is LogDog free?
Yes. Every log and moderation button in Discord is free for every group: all 41 event types, approving and banning from the embeds, reason notes, and the history commands, plus role sync and the dashboard itself. Premium is optional and mostly adds depth on the web dashboard: 90-day and all-time stats, CSV exports, and longer announcement and event history. It also unlocks a few extras: custom colors and panel looks, request auto-deny, and higher limits for things like reason presets and temporary bans.
What do I need to set it up?
A Discord server where you can add bots, and a VRChat group where you can assign roles. Invite the bot, then open Setup on the dashboard or run /setup in Discord. Express mode builds the log channels, LogDog's VRChat account asks to join your group, and you give it a role with View Audit Log. Your part takes under five minutes; LogDog then verifies its access on its own, so allow up to about fifteen minutes before the first logs arrive.
Does LogDog need my VRChat password?
No. You never share your credentials. You grant a LogDog service account permission to view your group's audit log, the same way you would give a role to any group member, and you can revoke that access at any time.
How quickly do new events show up in Discord?
LogDog checks your group on a regular pull cycle, so new events arrive in batches rather than instantly, usually within 1 to 10 minutes. If VRChat has an outage, LogDog picks up where it left off and backfills anything it missed once the API recovers.
Will LogDog post all my old logs?
No. The first sync posts a recent selection to Discord, 25 events by default, so your channels are not flooded. The older history VRChat still holds is imported for the dashboard instead, on Free and Premium alike.
What is role sync?
Role sync maps Discord roles to VRChat group roles, in one direction: Discord to VRChat. When members link their accounts, giving someone a mapped Discord role assigns the matching VRChat group role automatically, and removing it takes the group role away. Members who leave or unlink lose the roles LogDog granted, while roles they earned on their own are never touched.
Which events does LogDog cover?
All 41 VRChat group audit event types, from member joins and requests to bans, role changes, instance activity, and posts. Each one can be routed to whichever Discord channel you want, or turned off entirely.
